Christie + Co markets five pubs for JD Wetherspoon
18 July 2012
Specialist licensed business adviser Christie + Co is bringing five pubs to the market on behalf of J D Wetherspoon.
The pubs, a mixture of freehold and leasehold, are prominently placed in towns and cities across England and are available as a group or individually.
Three of the five are freeholds, all managed houses available with vacant possession upon completion. They are:
• The Eastgate in Northampton which has open plan bars on two floors and is on the market at an asking price of £975,000
• The White Swan in Portsmouth, a large open plan bar in the city centre, available at a £700,000 asking price
• The Picturedrome in Liverpool, a former cinema and television centre, which has a guide price of £495,000
The two leasehold pubs — the Printworks in London’s Farringdon Road and the Lodestar in Neston, Merseyside — are both currently closed and are available for nil premium on a free of tie lease.
Neil Morgan, Director and Head of Pubs for Christie + Co, says: “We are delighted to bring these pubs to market on the company’s behalf. The quality of the bars, together with the prime location they each enjoy, will undoubtedly result in a great deal of interest in a market where demand is more than keeping pace with the rate of pub disposals.”
