Pharmacy in Stratford sold to expanding operator
12 July 2012
Stratford Pharmacy, in the heart of Olympic London, has been sold by specialist pharmacy adviser Christie + Co.
The pharmacy, located in a prominent corner site within Stratford Shopping Centre, dispenses around 5,000 NHS prescriptions per month. It has been acquired by Osborn Pharmacy, a Kent-based operator that owns four other outlets in the south-east of England.
The business was on the market for offers in excess of £1 million.
Andrew Evangelou, Associate Director of Christie + Co, sold the pharmacy. He says: “Stratford Pharmacy is a well-established business that until this sale was in the same hands for around 30 years. It is a popular and profitable business, providing an invaluable pharmaceutical service to both local residents and visitors to the area – whose numbers will be boosted by the Olympics.”
Christie + Co recently acquired the specialist pharmacy business agents Orridge Business Sales Limited in a deal which created the UK’s largest specialist pharmacy agency and advisory practice.
Director and Head of Medical at Christie + Co, Tony Evans adds: “With the addition of Orridge Business Sales, Christie + Co has become the pre-eminent specialist pharmacy business agent. The sale of the strategically-situated Stratford Pharmacy is evidence of our growing pedigree and a foretaste of similar sales successes to follow.”
