Carluccio’s acquires new unit in Stratford-upon-Avon
24 July 2007
Carluccio’s has acquired the lease on a new 4,800 sq ft
restaurant unit in Stratford-upon-Avon through Christie + Co.
The property occupies a prominent position in the heart of
Stratford-upon-Avon’s town centre and previously traded as a
120-cover restaurant with a bar for approximately 30 people.
The Carluccio name first came to public attention when Priscilla
and Antonio opened an Italian food shop in Covent Garden in 1991.
The first Carluccio’s Caffe was opened in 1999 and the
company has since gone from strength to strength, today operating
more than 30 sites. Carluccio's PLC listed in December 2005, on the
Alternative Investment Market (AIM).
“The large restaurant premises we were instructed to
market in Stratford-upon-Avon are particularly attractive and have
recently been refurbished to an exceptional standard”, says
Andrew Moore from Christie + Co’s Corporate Restaurants team.
“Occupying a prominent trading location, we recognised that
this quality property would appeal to a corporate operator.
Carluccio’s is a particularly successful brand, which has
expanded rapidly over the last few years. The company aims to open
five new stores each year and the acquisition of the
Stratford-upon-Avon unit will to help achieve this.”
