Loch Fyne Restaurants acquires a new venue in Midhurst, West Sussex
26 April 2007
Loch Fyne Restaurants has acquired a site in the historic West
Sussex market town of Midhurst, with opening planned for June,
reports the Winchester office of leading restaurant agents,
Christie + Co.
The seafood restaurant will occupy an attractive 17th Century
building in North Street, the high street of the town.
The former owners carried out a sympathetic and high quality
conversion to create a 70-cover restaurant with rear patio,
preserving many character features, including an original
fireplace.
Vicky Moody of Christie + Co’s Winchester office, who
negotiated the sale, comments: “Our clients, Richard Bocock
and Richard Guess, instructed us to find a buyer for the premises
in January, enabling them to focus on their established and
reputable restaurant in London.
The sale of the premises attracted a tremendous amount of
interest with contracts successfully completing in April to Loch
Fyne Restaurants Ltd. From its beginnings on the shores of Loch
Fyne in Scotland, the group now has over 30 restaurants around the
UK all serving superb, fresh seafood. This attractive venue in
Midhurst is the ideal location for the latest Loch Fyne.”
The restaurant has been sold for an undisclosed figure from an
asking price of £130,000 for the leasehold interest; a new
20-year lease commenced in January 2007.
