Christie + Co sold three turnkey care home developments and a fourth care home development site in the south and west of England to Patron Capital’s Gracewell Healthcare in May 2011 — adding around 280 beds to the care sector. Christie + Co acted on behalf of the developer Highwood Group, which has a long pedigree of delivering social housing and care home developments.
Recent notable transactions include:
• Christie + Co sold the Willowcroft Hall turnkey development, near Derby, to MHA Care Group on behalf of LNT Construction
• A development site in Ernsettle Lane, Plymouth sold to Archstone Lifestyle Care. Construction on the site, with plans for a 64-bed elderly care scheme, will commence in late 2011
• Acting on behalf of Lifeways Community Care, Christie + Co acquired Austism Solutions
• Acting on behalf of Administrators Grant Thornton, sold the freehold interests of three East Midlands-based care homes, which were operated by the Park Group, to a private buyer
• Sold Prestwood Residential Homes Ltd, a group of eight specialist care homes situated throughout North Wales, to CareTech Holdings Ltd
• Heath House care home in Norwich sold to experienced operator following 27 viewings and eight offers
• The entire share capital of The Court Nursing Home Ltd – a Grade II listed nursing home in Cardiff - sold to existing operator
• Elm Lodge care home in Wakefield sold to Alhambra Care Limited
• Holly Bank nursing home in Somerset sold to existing operator
• Laburnam Lodge care home in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, sold to Arms Care Group
• Victoria Parkview nursing home in Worthing sold to new market entrant
• Ravenscroft nursing home in Yelverton, Devon, sold on behalf of the Administrator to Hart Care
• Acting on behalf of Reverend Graham and Mrs Jane Edwards, sold the freeholds of the Peterhouse care home in Kirkby le Soken, and The Retreat in Walton-on-the-Naze, to Aldanat Care Limited
• Mulberry Bush Day Nursery, a 58-registered nursery in Suffolk, sold following interest from buyers based in East Anglia as well as from areas further afield, such as Surrey and the Channel Islands
• Apperley Lodge Day Nursery in Idle, near Bradford, sold to existing operators
• Rivendale Nursery in Bridge of Weir, a village in Renfrewshire, sold to existing operator Collin Care Limited
