Press Release
Autumn Care Group home sold to Eldercare (Halifax) Ltd
22 July 2010
Acting on behalf of the Autumn Care Group, Christie + Co has sold the freehold of the Denison House care home in Selby, North Yorkshire, to Eldercare (Halifax) Ltd, the residential and nursing homes operator, for an undisclosed sum.
Situated on the outskirts of Selby, Denison House is registered as a care home with nursing for up to 35 service users.
Eldercare (Halifax) Ltd currently operates a further 12 residential and nursing homes across West and North Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Autumn Care Group, which is based in north-east England, continues to operate Northlands Nursing Home in Morpeth, Northumberland.
Jonathan Wickens, Director at the Leeds Office of Christie + Co, commented: “Despite some negativity across the market, this sale is a sign of the continued recovery in the care sector, with existing operators looking to extend their portfolios and first-time buyers entering the market.
“There has been an increase in activity throughout the first half of the year and there are a number of transactions due to complete in the next few weeks. By ensuring our marketing package is tailor-made to meet each client’s individual requirements, we are able to conclude transactions smoothly and effectively.”
Brian Vincent, Director of Eldercare (Halifax) Ltd added: “Eldercare continues to develop its portfolio of residential and nursing homes in West and North Yorkshire and Lancashire through selective acquisition of quality businesses. We are delighted with this further addition to our group operations and see very good potential to develop the services at Denison House.”
