Press Release

Welsh nightclub sold on behalf of Enterbiz Ltd

3 March 2010

Acting on behalf of Enterbiz Ltd, the Mid-Glamorgan-based leisure operator, Christie + Co has sold the freehold interest of the Paradise Nightclub in Pontardawe, to Michael Benyon and Alistair Parker, experienced operators from Swansea, for an undisclosed sum, off a guide price of £230,000.

Located in the centre of Pontardawe, 15 miles north of Swansea, the Mamas Paradise Nightclub comprises a split-level trading area, with a dance floor on the lower level and seating areas plus a DJ booth and stage on the upper level. The club has an overall capacity of 700.

The new owners, who also own the La Cantina bar in Swansea, carried out a refurbishment programme and reopened the club at the start of this month. It has been re-named Mamas Paradise Nightclub and Live Music Venue, and caters for all age groups and musical tastes.

Enterbiz Ltd, which is run by Sean Murray, currently operates three businesses in the Bargoed area of Mid Glamorgan, two pubs — the Plas Newydd and The Darvan Hotel plus a nightclub called Cleopatra’s.

Nicholas Calfe, Director of Christie + Co’s Bristol Office, commented: “This has been an excellent opportunity for the new owners to upgrade and reinvent an already-established and well-known venue in Pontardawe, with a strong local customer base.”
