The Consensus is that Corich is a profitable investment
26 November 2007
Acting on the instructions of Consensus Support Services, part of The Caring Homes Group, Christie + Co has acquired Corich Community Care Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Corich Community Care Ltd was established in 1995 to provide specialist care, in a home environment, for adults with severe and profound learning disabilities whose complex needs may include associated behavioural issues. The group comprises Courtwick Park, Huntley, Strawberry Fields (incorporating a state of the art purpose-built day centre), Buttercup and Railway Cottage, which are all located in West Sussex. In 2006 Christie + Co also sold Sunny Brook, a vacant unit in Southampton, to Corich, increasing the portfolio to six units.
Christie + Co Director, Charles Phillips, comments: “Having acted for the Caring Homes Group in a number of recent acquisitions, we were aware of Consensus’ appetite for good quality portfolios of learning disability homes. We were instructed by David Beecham, Caring Homes Acquisitions Director, to approach Corich Community Care with a bid to acquire the group.”
Consensus Support Services is the leading provider of high quality learning disability services in the UK, for individuals who may have complex needs. The group operates from over 50 locations, owned and operated by the Caring Homes Group – one of the largest privately owned care home groups in the UK. Consensus currently provides specialist care to in excess of 500 people, across a high quality portfolio of care homes and supported living facilities.
Richard Lunn, Director and Head of Care at Christie + Co concluded: “The acquisition of Corich Community Care increases Consensus’ presence in the south east and helps to cement its position at the forefront of the learning disability sector."
David Beecham, Acquisitions Director for The Caring Homes Group said “ With a focus on the individual requirements of each of its clients, the acquisition of Corich fits in perfectly with Consensus’ corporate ethos of ‘understanding individuality’ and gives us a platform to design and develop high quality schemes in new geographical areas."
