Germany
Our offices in
Germany are managed by Markus Beike, who has extensive
experience of the country’s hotel sector. Christie + Co
opened in Germany in 1999 with an office in
Frankfurt, the heart of
the country’s banking and commercial activities. Since then,
we have become the specialists for small and medium-sized hotel
transactions, as well as handling a number of transactions on
behalf of the larger corporate clients.
To increase both our market penetration and geographical coverage, we are constantly looking to expand our presence in Germany. As a federal country with several “Capitals”, it is imperative to have a local presence in the key trading areas. We now employ 20 dedicated professionals across five locations in order to offer expert knowledge of our local markets as well as unrivalled business intelligence on a national scale.
In January 2005, we opened in Berlin - focusing on hotels in the capital and the New States (previously East Germany). In September of the same year, we opened in Munich. Having an office in southern Germany gives us a platform to cover that part of the country more efficiently as well as Austria and Switzerland. This was followed, in September 2006, by the addition of a location in Dusseldorf on the famous Königsallee, at the heart of one of Dusseldorf’s most exclusive shopping districts. Most recently, in April 2007, we have established a presence in Hamburg to cover regions as diverse as Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bremen as well as Hamburg.
We are already seeing the benefits of establishing an office in each of the key trading locations in Germany by a marked increase in transactional activity. We have recorded more than 100 transactions in the last three years on behalf of a range of national and international clients.
Christie + Co’s German offices also employ a team of advisory and valuations specialists to offer additional services and experienced guidance relating to the complex nature of the German hotel market. These professionals carry out single asset and portfolio analyses and valuations, to complement the services offered by our pan-European, multi-lingual Consultancy Team.
